Valentine’s got a little bit early with a special gift from promoter Wish Us Luck to the fans of Thai music in the Philippines as five (5) Thai acts got the chance to perform their work of music to the fans.

On February 10, 2024, LUVCON 2024: feelings ain’t overrated embarked on featuring five acts — Tale, Boy Sompob, Three Man Down, Boss Chaikamon, and Tilly Birds, at SM Skydome!

With a total of 6 hours of Thai music, the fans felt the love from all of the acts. Indeed a memorable night because every moment has become a wonderful memory to everyone that they will surely treasure forever.

Let us dig into the five (5) highlights of the successful LUVCON 2024:

Introducing TALE and their remarkable Tagalog song performance

Thai duo TALE consisting of Ponjang and Tanthai, highlighted their soothing and undeniably amazing vocal skills to their Filipino fans.

TALE made sure to let the fans feel what it is like to attend their gigs so they performed their songs like รอ (STANDBY), Falsely Moving On, and Vivid Midnight, as some cover songs like Sza’s Kill Bill, Troye Sivan’s Angel Baby, Olivia Rodrigo’s Déjà vu and Taylor Swift’songs. The Thai duo even surprised their Filipino audience with their cover of I Belong To The Zoo’s Sana and Magnus Haven’s Imahe.

Not to mention that LUVCON 2024 was TALE’s first-ever International show and to spend it with their supportive Filipino fans definitely marked the hearts of TALE.

If you are an OG BL fan surely you’ve come across Boy Sompob’s songs. May it be from Love Sick The Series, Love By Chance, Until We Meet Again, Between Us, La Pluie The Series, and many more iconic BL series.

During Boy Sompob’s set, he gave his all and showed a magical performance through his outstanding choice of setlist to perform for his fans. Even from the start when he performed “Shake,” the crowd felt in awe from hearing the song LIVE for the first time in Manila. Surely, the fans recalled all the moments they had before when they were just listening to Boy Sompob’s songs through the BL series they’ve watched to hearing it live.

Boy Sompob performed many of his hits including Wish, The Luckiest Boy, You Are My Destiny, and Until We Meet Again. He also surprised his fans as he covered Zack Tabudlo’s Give Me Your Forever.

The CITY is happy with Three Man Down

Thai band, Three Man Down, consisting of Kit, Thay, Toon, and Seng highlighted their energy and outstanding setlist to the Filipino fans. The band showed they could be versatile with the genre they performed during LUVCON.

The band hyped the crowd through their electrifying tracks like น้อง (NONG), ปล่อยให้เวลา (BROKEN CLOCK), วันเกิดฉันปีนี (HBD TO ME), ฝนตกไหม (IS IT RAINING?). The band even sang a song with a fan on stage. Three Man Down’s drummer Thay even prepared Tagalog words for their Filipino fans like “Ang pangalan ko ay Thay,” and “Masaya akong makita ka.”

Surely, the night became more of a core memory when the band performed “ข้างกัน (CITY)” live in Manila, which was featured in the BL series My School President. The fun and energetic set of Three Man Down gave an energetic boost to the crowd.

For the third time, Boss Chaikamon’s return to Manila filled ‘love in the air’ as the fans screamed their hearts out as the Thai actor serenaded them with the OST of Love in The Air titled My Strongest Love.

Indeed Boss’ love for his fans is strong as he even covered a Filipino song Pano by Zack Tabudlo. The Thai actor’s sweet voice and captivating vocals captured the hearts of his Filipino fans again for the third time around.

LUVCON 2024 is the third visit of Boss Chaikamon to Manila after his visit last year for Seasons of Love: Love in The Air Fanmeeting 2023 and becomes the special guest for NetJames 1st Fan Meeting in Manila 2023.

The first-ever LUVCON 2024 marks the second visit of Tilly Birds and surely many of their fans anticipated their epic return to Manila. As the show leans towards the end of the show, the crowd is still hyped because of Tilly Birds. The band performed “White Pills” which was their unreleased song and the band first sang it in Manila during their show last year.

With iconic tracks like Same Page, Until Then, and Just Being Friendly, the fans sing along with the band wholeheartedly and with passion just like how the band performed with high passion.

Just like the song of Tilly Birds “Worth The Wait,” indeed it is as a fan got the chance to sing “Worth The Wait” with Third of Tilly Birds.  Not just that because one of the remarkable moments also during their set in LUVCON is when the band performed “Heart in a Cage” for the first time in Manila.

What could be the ‘Status’ of their fans at the end of the show? In love with Tilly Birds all over again, of course!

FANS’ INSIGHTS ABOUT THE SHOW

We got the chance to interview some of the attendees of LUVCON 2024 and here’s what they thought.

“I am very happy that I got to see Tale Band perform live, especially when they sang Tagalog songs. It was unexpected, but I appreciated their performance. During the second performance, which featured Boy Sompob, almost everyone around me cried because he sang the OSTs for “Until We Meet Again” and “Love by Chance,” which resonated with people’s minds. I enjoyed his performance as it reminded me of the early days when I started falling in love with the BL (Boys’ Love) industry. Three Man Down is one of the bands that truly excels in their performances, filled with excitement and joy. Their lead vocalist, without a doubt, possesses remarkable talent.  I have encountered Boss Chaikamon three times, and each time, his beauty genuinely captivated me. He performed “Pano” by Zack Tabudlo, which many people enjoyed. The last performer I was eagerly anticipating was the Tilly Birds band. I loved them last year, and my affection for them has only grown since then. Their songs provide me with strength and encouragement in life. I hope to see them again and witness them perform live.”

On the other hand, Abbiegail expressed how nostalgic it was when Boy Sompob performed.

“As an OG BL fan who watched the series that Boy Sompob sang the OST, the moment he performed is nostalgic for me. He brought the feels and made us remember the scenes and those memories we had while watching the series. The same thing with Three Man Down, because of My School President since they covered City, I got hooked to Three Man Down, since then I liked their songs and I’m happy that I got the chance to hear them perform live at LUVCON.”

First-ever LUVCON 2024 is a success in highlighting the amazing talent of the five amazing Thai acts — Tale, Boy Sompob, Three Man Down, Boss Chaikamon, and Tilly Birds. The five acts showed how versatile and skillful they are when it comes to their craft and their art. These five showed how music could make a person ecstatic.
