One of the best Thai series this 2024: Spare Me Your Mercy | #ItsThaimazing

The medical type of BL (boys’ love) is not new to us, especially when Sammon is the novel’s writer. Sammon already had many medical themed novels that turned into series way back just like Triage and Manner of Death. Fast forward to the announcement of Euthanasia (Spare Me Your Mercy) becoming a series, we really waited for its release date, as we are thrilled to see how Tor and JJ will deliver their characters in the series as Dr. Kan and Wasan respectively.

Here are some of the reasons why we love the series:

PLOT

Spare Me Your Mercy follows the story of Police Officer Wasan as he felt really troubled because of the suspicious and mysterious death rate of terminally ill patients including his mother who died prematurely. Through his investigation, he met the Palliative care doctor, Dr. Kantaphat, who happens to take care of terminally ill patients, and one of the terminally ill patients under the care of Dr. Kantaphat was Wasan’s mother. As the police investigate, romantic feelings between Wasan and Dr. Kan get involved, and more mystery unfolds as the story progresses.

The plot is interesting and intriguing. If you are a fan of medical, mysterious, and detective series then this is for you. This series will not just let you think of theories like who the suspect is and who is the one performing Euthanasia, it will keep you intrigued every time there is a new case of a terminally ill patient’s mysterious death.

Yes, this is a boys’ love series and for us the romance is just right, it does not have many cheesy scenes but when cheesy scenes occur between Dr. Kan and Wasan, it will definitely have an impact on you.

Talking about cheesy scenes, here are some of our favorite cheesy scenes of Dr. Kan and Wasan.

The ending of the series left us shocked and yet felt it was the most realistic ending of the series.

CAST & CHARACTERS

First of all, we have to commend each of the artists in the series as they all delivered their characters well. To name a few here are the characters who left an impression on us when we watched the series.

For Tor (Dr. Kan), we have to say that even though Spare Me Your Mercy is his first boys’ love series, he did so well as Dr. Kan. Tor did a good job in letting the audience feel the emotions of Dr. Kan each episode especially when showing his care of his patients, love for Wasan and fear of losing Wasan.

For JJ (Wasan), in each episode, we felt Wasan’s ‘what ifs’ about Dr. Kan. We felt his pain and how troubled he is especially when dealing with what he should listen to, his heart or his mind, love or duty. It is hard on his part because of the law he stands in and the one he loves who always keeps getting involved in his investigation. The complexity level of Wasan is hard because romantic feelings are involved as well.

Aelm, who played Boss in the series, also left an impression on us. During the introduction of his character, it felt powerful that later on revealed that his character played to one of the most important parts of the series.

CINEMATOGRAPHY & SCRIPT

Each of the scenes was beautifully shot and it gives life to the series. Aside from the cinematography, the script is well-written. Personally, the confrontation scene between Dr. Kan and Wasan is top-tier and we felt the suffering of Wasan and Dr. Kan.

After watching the series, we genuinely felt this is one of the best BL series released in 2024 that you should watch. The series has eight episodes and even though it has a realistically bittersweet ending, we still want for more.
